Today our interview is with youth sensation Aurora Cummings. Soar Active had the privilege to catch up with and chat about her love of cheer.
- Aurora, tell us about your early life?
Aurora: When I was 18 months old I started ballet and did it until I was 4. I did pagents for a year whin I was 3. I've always been really social and athletic.
- So how did you discover cheer?
Aurora: My coach yeed to work with my mum when they weere younger and she introduced my parents to eachother. My dad was also a competitive cheerleader.
- What was your next step?
Aurora: I wanted to be in the gym as much as possible.
- How do you balance cheer and managing school?
Aurora: I make sure to get as much rest as I can and everytime I get home from school I ger hydrated and eat and I am ready to go.
- What do you do in your downtime?
Aurora: Shoping, making Tik-Toks, play with my friends and play Roblox.
- What makes you feel happy, brave, and strong?
Aurora: My friends, my family, and cheer.
- Tell us about a special moment in the last year?
Aurora: My team went undefeated last year.
- What is your ultimate goal?
Aurora: To grow up and be a cheer coach.
- What's your favourite attribute about yourself?
Aurora: I am pretty and determined.
- Favourite song on repeat right now?
Aurora: Blank Space, by Taylor Swift.
- What has cheer taught you about life?
Aurora: To always be brave and stick up for yourself.
- Who inspires you right now?
Aurora: My coaches.
- What would you say to other young females about following their dreams?
Aurora: To make sure if somebody wants you to do soccer, but you want to do cheer. Go cheer. It's you dream, not theirs. Just go do it.
